Adoration

Praise God by your very life
Seeking the face of the Lord

You are very welcome to our Website, where we hope to share with you the joy of our vocation as Eucharistic Adorers, praying for the Church  and the whole world and for all those who have asked or need our Prayers.

The Poor Clare, with one arm, clasps the world to her heart
and with the other, embraces Christ,
knowing the He embraces both her and the world.

We are an enclosed contemplative religious community, committed to living the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Inspired by the life and writings of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi, our life is centred on the Eucharist and Eucharistic Adoration. We celebrate the Divine Office. The laity join us daily in praying/singing/chanting it and participate in Eucharistic Adoration and in all the prayers of the sisters.

The spirituality of a Poor Clare is one of prayer, simplicity, gentleness, humility, joy and community life.

The Convent is situated in peaceful, scenic countryside on the outskirts of the small town of Drumshanbo which is beside the shores of Lough Allen and overlooked by the Sliabh an Iarainn, the Iron Mountain, and the nearby Arigna Mountains.

Regular Visitng Hours:

Open: Monday to Saturday
10.00am to 4.00pm
Closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays

We would appreciate if you aim to be here at least 20 minutes before closing times to allow the sister on duty to be on time for prayer
